About Us

St. Catherine Laboure Council 12811 of the Knights of Columbus was chartered in November 2000. Since then we have performed many services to our Parish, Diocese, and Community.

Shortly after being established, we had a Free Throw Championship competition and continued that event for our youth through 2009. During those Championships our youth made it to District, Regional, and State competition.

In addition, we have sponsored nine consecutive Essay contests for the Eighth Grade Student at our fine Elementary School. This year we will have completed our TENTH sponsorship of this event.

From the onset of this very active Council, we have continuously supported fund raising for the Lebanon/Dauphin County Association of Retarded Citizens. We are pleased to report that during the first nine years we have raised more than $10,000.  We are actively planning the fund raising event for 2009 and we hope to exceed all previous successes.

We have also initiated a fund raising event to support the Diocesan Advertising Campaign to assist in attaining more candidates for the religious life. Our first contributions totaled about $2,000 to date. 

There are many more events in which we have participated, including the sponsorship of a Little League Team, Easter Egg Hunts for both St. Catherine Laboure and St. Francis of Assissi Parishes.

We are grateful to all former officers and all members, past and present, for their outstanding service to the Council, Parish, Diocese and the entire Harrisburg community. We will strive to continue our good works.
